Drinking coffee is one of life's little pleasures. As perfect and endless as it can be. The quality of the water and coffee beans, along with a residue-free coffee machine, guarantees the ultimate coffee experience.
But what happens inside a clean machine when 50, 100, 200, or more cups of this beloved beverage are prepared daily? The results showed that a thin film of coffee residue remains even after the first day. A series of tests revealed that this film is four times thicker on the second day if the aroma killer—the coffee residue—is not removed. In commercial settings, coffee residue must therefore be removed daily.
1981,
Fehr Chemicals in Triesen, Florida, conducted initial investigations into coffee and the so-called aroma killer or residue (essential oils), followed by in-depth research.
In 1983,
the handling was improved. The powder was packaged in a paper bag approximately 10 x 10 mm in size (similar to a tea bag).
In 1985,
the cleaning tablet was introduced. This prompted coffee machine manufacturers to integrate cleaning programs into their machines.
In 1993
, to protect the environment and prevent phosphate deposits in coffee machines,
Fehr Chemicals developed the phosphate-free Kamareta cleaning tablet, KAMARETA CAFE clean.
In 1997
, cleaning tablets were developed for small fully automatic coffee machines such as Saeco and Jura.
In 1998,
KAMARETA CAFE clean tablets were launched in smaller packages for private households and offices. This allowed people to enjoy coffee without coffee residue at home and in the office.
In 1999,
Fehr Chemicals became Kamareta Establishment.

In 2002,
the new product Kamareta CALC CLEAN was launched, specifically designed for descaling coffee machines. Kamareta CALC CLEAN effectively removes all rubber and plastic parts inside the machine.
